An interview with James and Cathy

James is a good friend and one of my favorite conversationalists and Cathy is his wonderful girlfriend. They are both teachers in the Flathead Valley. We are at the Northern Bar in Whitefish, Montana, talking before I got on the train headed for Seattle.

Another very articulate voice of #Occupy

This video was found on The Guardian website.

A voice from #Occupy London

One of the most common criticisms I hear of this movement is that there is no direction.

Blog Question: What common goals could #Occupy take up that would give the movement direction without excluding ideas?

This video was found on The Guardian website.

A Prairie Home Companion and OWS

On a lighter note, here is good old Garrison Keillor on PHC making me laugh about OWS. John Lithgow is also in this skit. Two really funny people.

Cool pictures from Occupy International

The Guardian has some pics from #Occupy movements around the world.

You can find the rest of the pictures here:

More arrests in Chicago

Chicago has just seen a wave of arrests, and the people seem undaunted despite this. Check out this article from NPR:

Blog Question: Would you get arrested for a cause?

A great conversation about the nature of OWS.

The guests of this interview are very articulate and very well thought on the real root of the Occupy Wall Street movement and the direction it is heading. This comes from Al Jazeera English.

An alternate opinion

Not everyone who has heard about this movement or my project has been supportive. Here is an email that was forwarded to me from a past senator of the Colorado State Congress when she was told of my project:

"Probably all these kids are being sent to school on their parents hard earnings and have the opportunity to better themselves in universities and colleges. They are also eligible for Pell grants and myriads of other scholarships. What a great country we live in. And what are corporations? Faceless people or (real) PEOPLE, just like your mom and dad, and us... Are there other countries that you are trying to model yourselves after in which you would have better opportunities, like Russia, Lithuania, Uganda, or Egypt. It would be great to have such a discussion so we could improve our educational system. It's run by the NEA, one of the biggest unions in the United States. Perhaps they can give us a roadmap to prosperity. Or, we could have another failed stimulus package from Mr Obama..."

Blog question: Do you believe this movement is advocating for more socialist ways of thinking in American politics?

Second senior NYPD officer faces investigation

Violence from the front line: Occupy Wall Street adresses more police brutality:

And in conjunction, reports from Rome protest:

Blog Question: Do you think a revolution of this kind can stay non-violent in America, especially due to the indeterminate nature of the protests?
